Germany's great choice of accommodation - from bed & breakfasts to world-class 5-star hotels

Germany offers a fabulous range of accommodation types that we can book for you, which enables you to create a variety of holiday experiences. Of course, in its great cities, such as Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart and Cologne, there are outstanding hotels to match, with Berlin’s Adlon Hotel, close to Brandenburg Gate, or the iconic Atlantic Hotel in Hamburg comfortably fitting into any list of Europe’s finest hotels.

However, you don’t have to stay in a beautiful 5-star property to get outstanding service and quality. Hotels across the star-rating range are proud to demonstrate their passion for offering their guests traditional German hospitality and legendary standards of service and efficiency. Leading the way is Germany’s highly-respected Maritim chain with 33 hotels across Germany ranging from the principal city to resort hotels in the Black Forest, Harz Mountains, on the Northern Coast or in many of the country’s Spa towns.

Although the choice of hotels is enormous, it is really at the level of smaller family-run hotels that Germany truly excels. They are more traditional in their style of accommodation – often with a history going back many centuries, and still being run today by the same families that built the original property many generations before. They provide comfortable and great value accommodation, and will normally have their own restaurants where the food is as traditional and delicious as the surroundings.

Especially heading further south in the Bavarian villages, throughout the Black Forest, or along Germany’s great rivers – the Rhine, Moselle and Neckar, there is a style of accommodation that is even more common, and offers even more variety it is the ubiquitous ‘bed and breakfasts’, or private houses. These often only have four or five guest bedrooms where you have a great opportunity to get to know the families that own them.

Another popular style of accommodation is the Ferienwohnung - or holiday apartment - where you cater for yourselves. As well as the traditional holiday areas, such as around the Bodensee, or up on the Baltic coast, you can find apartments in most of the big cities.
