We are a specialist independent travel company based in Witney in Oxfordshire, but one that for the reasons outlined in the About Us section has a particular knowledge of, and passion for, all things Germanic, and sees Germany as a destination that deserves more attention and consideration than mainstream travel companies give it. For this reason, Experience Germany Travel was born to highlight opportunities that this fascinating country - a true sleeping giant in tourism terms – has to offer, whenever you can travel and whatever your interests.
The website is split into easy-to-follow sections which will guide you through the different holiday experiences that you can enjoy when visiting Germany throughout the year. We only work with our favourite travel partners, all of whom are ABTA members like ourselves. This means that you are guaranteed high standards of service and reliability, and have the confidence that comes from knowing that every holiday we sell is financially-protected for your security and reassurance.
You will notice that we have included pages on the website devoted to Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France. This is in no way to deflect from the pleasures of travelling in and around Germany, it's just that these countries fit beautifully together if you want to plan a more extensive trip. If you are driving to Germany, it's almost impossible to do this without travelling through France at some stage, so it's sensible to mention options for how to make the most of this time. Obviously at different points, Austria and Switzerland share important land borders with Germany, and if you are in certain parts of Bavaria, for example, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, you could be over the border into Austria, and heading down the Brenner Pass to Italy in less time than it would take you to get back to Munich, which is about 80 minutes' drive away.
One of the great advantages of holidaying in Germany, which may well come as a surprise to lots of people is that, along with Austria, it is one of the best-value places to visit - an extremely important point, given the Pound's recent history. We are sure that you will be pleasantly-surprised by the costs of a typical break to Germany, but more importantly, the costs when you are in the country. You can enjoy a really good 3-course meal with a drink in many quality restaurants for €30 or less person. A 0.5l glass of beer - the equivalent of about 1 pint - will cost you around €3 - €3.50, whilst a German staple - a coffee and a delicious slice of cake would usually be around €6. Obviously, you can spend a lot more if you wish, but we think you will be amazed at the great value that a Germany travel experience represents.

The Experience Germany Travel office is open Monday - Friday between 9.30am and 5pm, and on Saturdays between 9.30am and 1.00pm. We are closed on Sundays.
